It took months of unsteady and erratic play since his return, but golf’s prodigal son Tiger Woods is truly back. Woods had been sidelined for a few years due to back injury and many regarded this latest iteration as nothing more than amusing. Some analysts though, considered it healthy for the sport, with Woods still attracting people to the golf course.

Now Tiger has officially returned to competitive form, proved by his stellar performance in the final round of the PGA Championship this August. He finished with his best single-round record of 64, enough to earn him a second-place finish behind Brooks Koepka who shot 66. If it weren’t for bad swings on the 9th and the 17th and two bogeys, he could have won the tournament, too.
As it is, this is Wood’s second straight top-10 finish in the PGA Tour. And the comeback is already building a solid case as one of the biggest stories in sports in 2018. The only thing missing from Tiger’s game that would complete his return to his old self is consistency off the tee. If he can recover that tee-shot swing, other current top-ranked players like Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, and Jordan Spieth should take full notice.
Tiger’s ferocity and trademark fist pumps were apparent in this latest run, capped by a fitting birdie on the 18th. Even though by then it had already been made clear that Koepka would win, fans roared with Woods as he raised his hands to acknowledge that the performance was, indeed, huge. Suddenly, that dream 15th major championship for Tiger—in recent years seemed truly unreachable—is now a definite possibility.

Stress is one of the most dangerous things people encounter on a daily basis. It can affect our bodies in more ways than one. We’ve all known people who’ve had immense difficulty managing their own stress. And we’ve all been in situations where we needed to let out steam on a really bad day.

The harsh truth about stress relief is that often, the things that are most effective in relieving stress are unhealthy. Or so people think. How often have we seen people overeat, binge-drink, do drugs, or have unsafe sex, just to forget the stressors of their lives for a single night? And what people don’t realize until it’s too late is that all these unhealthy endeavors have consequences.
However, with enough help and support from friends and relatives, those who are stressed out can replace these self-destructive habits with self-actualizing ones. It takes a bit of time to mentally condition a person who drinks pints of beer on a nightly basis to go to the gym and sweat all the stress out.
It has been observed through many studies and by many researchers over the years that once the mental aspect of self-destructive stress-relief seeking is overcome, a person stays in the healthy environment as long as he can. And all he needs to not slide back into bad habits is a nudge from family and friends.

Ever since the 12th century, the United Kingdom has cultivated a love affair with pies. Fast forward to today, countless pies of both the savory and sweet varieties have been produced. A few that you should try at least once during your lifetime are the following:

Pork Pie: “The classic” is the term used to describe this meat pie. Pork Pie is served cold, but the filling, which consists of pork and pork jelly, is sealed in a thick and crumbly hot water crust pastry.
Gala Pie: The Gala Pie is called the Pork Pie’s twin because they are similarly made. The major difference is that a slice of a hard-boiled egg is nestled in the center of the Gala Pie.
Apple Pie: The British are known for their tea culture and considered as one of the best food to pair with the hot drink is an apple pie. There are now several iterations of apple pie, but the most recommended are those that use Bramley apple.
Lemon Meringue Pie: Preparing a lemon meringue pie is a challenging undertaking because the texture of the bottom and the pastry should be perfect – or at least near perfect. Because of the difficulty in making this dish, you can be sure that this pie, as cliché as it may sound, is made with love.

If you have just started playing golf, before you head to a course, it is important to understand first what types of golf clubs there are – and when to use them. Below is a helpful guide on the basic golf clubs.
This long-range weapon is the club that can propel the ball the farthest. For holes that are more than 200 yards, this is the best type of golf club to use off the tee. The driver used to be called woods as that was the material (usually persimmon or hickory) of choice for the club. Nowadays, drivers are made of metals or alloys.

When the ball is on the fairway, and fewer than 200 yards away from the green, an iron is used. Irons are graded from 1 through 9, with each kind covering varying distances; a lower grade means a higher loft, which sends the ball farther. A normal golf club set is usually comprised of 3- through 9-irons as the other two require a higher level of mastery.
Wedges are specialty clubs that can make the golf ball fly or loft higher. Golfers usually select them to escape from bunkers and tall grass or to clear a hazard.

Golfers who have already reached the green use putters to roll the ball on the green toward the hole. Putters are typically shorter than other clubs. However, ones with taller shafts have been invented to provide additional control for the golfer.
Moving to a new city can be a life-changing experience. Old boxes brim with old memories, and unpacking them can make one wonder: what’s in store for me in this new place I’m calling home? Here are some tips to make friends in a new territory.
Get out of the house
The first rule is to get one’s self out there and make new interactions. Read a book at a coffee shop, eat at a restaurant, or join a gym or a fitness club. Once invites to join other activities and new people come in, be bold enough to say yes and welcome the opportunity to meet new people.
Nurture new relationships in the workplace
Make an effort with those coworkers. Start to grab lunch with them and be open to the chance of getting to know them better or having after-work drinks sometimes.

Take a continuing education class
Have you always been interested in taking that French or Italian class? Culinary classes are great, too! Not only will this provide some company but will also draw one closer to like-minded individuals. Having common interests, after all, is a usual catalyst of friendship.
Do volunteer work
It’s about making friends while doing something you’re passionate about – and, of course, making the world a better place to live in. It will expand your network in the field/s you advocate for and causes you believe in.

One of the more popular fields in neuroscience and psychology is cognitive development. Over the years, scientists have made numerous advancements in cognitive development research and technology. Some of the most interesting facets of cognitive development surround the processing of information during childhood, a child’s perception of reality, and how he learns new languages. Simultaneous to these processes are neurodevelopmental processes such as brain development. For many people, there are a few things more intriguing than how a child sees the world.
Cognitive development is based on Jean Piaget’s studies, his theories, and the four stages – sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete operational, formal operational. While this is still the foundation on which cognitive development was built, the field has evolved. A number of newer concepts such as object permanence in infants, and toddlers’ cause and effect reasoning have taken center stage in the field.

A number of noted psychologists have come up with alternative schools of thought on cognitive development. Today, there are Neo-Piagetian and Information Processing Theories that are constantly being studied, whose models are being tested in practical settings.
But whatever new theories and models come out, cognitive development will always be a choice for old and new psychologists simply because of the implications discoveries can have on children.
